Counselor-License.com was created during an exploratory period into graduate counseling preparation and the transition to professional practice. I found it difficult to locate specific information I needed for pursuing professional counseling licensure in my state. I decided to research other states and encountered similar struggles. The information was all there, just not as easy to find as I would have liked.
The goal of Counselor-License.com is to provide an easy to navigate tool for students and new counselors interested in graduate education and counseling licensure requirements in their state. I believe that the layout I have created addresses this goal and will serve as a unique resource for this audience. Contact information for each state's licensing authority is provided for those in the process of pursuing or fulfilling licensure requirements. Contact your state's licensing Board to verify all requirements and to ask any questions you may have along the way. Though I do my best to keep the information current, state licensing information can also change/update and it may happen that the information I have provided here could be outdated.
Counselor-License.com's mission is to help facilitate the process of finding appropriate graduate study programs in the counseling field, streamline the search for professional counselor licensure requirements in each state and provide support information for newly licensed professional counselors in the United States.
